The influence of sequestrants in The cleaning of internal combustion engines

Auteurs : G. A. Grizzell

Abstract

The cleaning and reconditioning of internal combustion engines is a major operation. This is due to the nature of the soils which have to be removed, these ranging through oil sludges, gums and resins to bakedon carbonaceous deposits which are sometimes as hard and thick as cement crusts. In addition, there are road soils, lead oxides resulting from the decomposition of leaded fuels, and the everpresent bogy of rust.
