Abstract
The 6th "Innovation Underground" tunnelling fair (IUT'11) held on 14-15 September 2011 in the Hagerbach Test Gallery (VSH) near Sargans included a seminar on "Tunnel repair, maintenance and renovation", covering a variety of projects and applications from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Whereas previous seminars had focused chiefly on driving methods, tunnel construction and opera- tional/traffic installations, the seminar at IUT'11 went a step further and addressed the ever more topical subjects of maintaining, repairing and rebuilding ageing tunnels - covering both rail and road tunnels.
